Case Studies
Bird management in complex operational environments
Avian Environmental UK provides specialist bird management for industrial, construction, commercial and environmentally sensitive sites across the UK.
Our work combines professional falconry with site monitoring, behavioural assessment and complementary deterrence methods. Each programme is adapted to the species present, the operational environment and the changing pressure across the site.
These case studies document the conditions encountered, the methods deployed and the measurable changes observed during sustained bird-management programmes.

Point of Ayr — Liverpool Bay CCS
Bird management supporting the transformation of Point of Ayr for the Liverpool Bay Carbon Capture and Storage project.
Avian Environmental UK provided sustained bird-management support during a major programme of demolition and site preparation at the former Point of Ayr Gas Terminal.
The site presented a complex operational and ecological challenge, with an established gull breeding population occupying areas affected by industrial works.
Over the three-month programme, specialist falconry, continuous monitoring and complementary deterrence were used to progressively reduce bird pressure within key operational areas while works continued.
